As an official guide for The Lexington Card Club, we are pleased to provide you with the rules for Texas Hold'em, one of the most popular poker games in the world.
Objective: The objective of Texas Hold'em is to create the best possible five-card hand using any combination of the two cards dealt to each player and the five community cards on the table.
Gameplay:
1. The game begins with each player being dealt two private cards, also known as "hole cards".
2. The first betting round starts with the player to the left of the big blind and continues clockwise.
3. After the first betting round, the dealer will reveal three community cards, known as the "flop".
4. The second betting round starts with the first active player to the left of the dealer button and continues clockwise.
5. The dealer will then reveal a fourth community card, known as the "turn".
6. The third betting round starts with the first active player to the left of the dealer button and continues clockwise.
7. The dealer will then reveal the final community card, known as the "river".
8. The fourth and final betting round starts with the first active player to the left of the dealer button and continues clockwise.
9. If two or more players remain after the final betting round, a showdown occurs. The player with the best five-card hand using any combination of their hole cards and the community cards wins the pot.
10. In case of a tie, the pot is split equally among the winning players.
Blinds: Texas Hold'em uses blinds to create a pot and stimulate betting. The player to the left of the dealer button posts the small blind, and the player to their left posts the big blind.
Ante: At The Lexington Card Club, we do not use antes in our Texas Hold'em games.
